The magnificent granitic Frégate island Private lies east of Mahé covers an area approx. 3sq km and offers no less than seven powder soft, white sand beaches fringed by magnificent tropical forests.

Frégate Island is home to many rare species of wildlife including some of the rarest endemic birds such as the Magpie Robin, Seychelles Fody and Seychelles White-eye. It is also an important breeding area for Fairy Tern's and Lesser Noddy's who flock to the island each year to breed. In total, Fregate has over 140 species of rare tropical birds. The island is also home to the giant Aldabra tortoise while turtles are also frequent visitors.

For the past eleven years, a highly successful ecological programme has been operational with the focus on conservation. Guests are encouraged to share in the unique experience. In the waters around Frégate Island Private, it is not uncommon for divers to encounter whale shark and dolphins during the diving season.

Most of the superb and exclusively designed villas are built over-looking a spectacular beach. Richly furnished in Thai silks and Egyptian cotton, each villa has a glass-enclosed entrance foyer, separate living room and bedroom, and two bathrooms with outdoor showers. The private wooden sun deck leads to a private pool with jacuzzi. This picture-perfect setting is ideal for in-villa dining. You also have the possibility to dine anywhere, anytime; in the tree house, in the bana grove, at the beach or any other location. A private butler takes care of your every need.

The main building in Frégate Island Private houses one of the two restaurants (which are supplied by the islands own plantation and hydroponics) two bars, a library and an exclusive boutique and gallery. There are two infinity swimming pools spilling over the horizon into waterfalls cascading down the rocks.

Guests will delight at Frégate Island Private's new, innovative "Bird's Nest". Just off Grande Anse, one of Fregate's seven dream beaches, a wooden staircase winds up around the trunk of a coconut tree to a discreet platform discreetly camourflaged in palm leaves. Rising above the treetops, this hideaway is perfect for couples to enjoy stunning views, sip delicious sundowners, enjoy a gourmet meal prepared and served by their private butler, or just enjoy each others' company in a unique and secluded environment.

The Rock Spa was the first indigenous spa in the Seychelles, and incorporates nature's elements of earth, fire, air and water into the Creole-inspired architecture. Following a consultation with experienced therapists, the on-site apothecary prepares all remedial therapies fresh each day using the natural island produce.
