On the east coast of Mauritius, the brand new Long Beach opened in April 2011. Developed by Sun Resorts, who also own Sugar Beach on the west coast as well as Le Touessrok on the east coast, this new resort offers a new 'piaza-style' of living - a new concept for Mauritius.

The resort is set on the east coast of Mauritius, on one of the longest and widest stretch of white sand beaches. Beyond this, the tropical lagoon offers crystal clear waters and is perfect for water sports; indeed, it is a snorkelling paradise!

The focus of the resort's layout and it's life is the 'urban-style' piazza with restaurants, bars and shops. Modern architecture brings tropical interpretations to the urban style, softened by natural forms, local materials and the extensive lush tropical gardens. A unique architectural feature are the 'adjustable wind breaks' that are designed to moderate the offshore breezes.

There are over 250 rooms and suites, arranged in three 'crescents', each with a view of the ocean. Room types include Beachfront Family rooms, Standard Seaview rooms, Superior Beachfront rooms, as well as Deluxe Beachfront suites. Chic, contemporary designs blend together indoor and outdoor living with all rooms having king-size beds and stylish furniture.

A variety of dining experiences are available at the Long Beach Resort, from Asian to relaxed beach chic and from sophistiated show cuisine to an Italian deli. There are three restaurants located on the piazza and two on the beach - offering a mix of indoor and outdoor seating. Leisure and sports interests are well catered for throughout the resort. There are two pools as well as a lap pool at the sports centre which also offers a fully-equipped air-conditioned gym. There is a huge choice of land and water sports - many offered on a complimentary basis. Land sports include: tennis courts, five-a-side football pitch, pitch and putt, jogging track, cycling path, skating path as well as 'wall climbing'! A daily free shuttle service (available for stays until 31 October 2013) is offered to Le Touessrok Golf Course at the hotel's sister property.

A wide choice of entertainment is provided, both during the day as well as nightly live shows featuring a variety of local talents; these include weekly local folklore shows around a bonfire. A nightclub is available. There is also a Kids Club and a Teens Club.
